La Maison de la Rivière a classic
“Maison de Maître”, is situated in the centre of the peaceful market village of Esperaza, nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, 40 km south of Carcassonne.

La Maison was constructed in the mid-19th century for the family of a local
hat manufacturer. The house has been tastefully restored to its original splendour and many of the original
period features have been preserved, giving the house a grand, yet warm character.

La Maison, with its classical façade and art nouveau balcony, overlooks a stunning romanesque bridge which spans the River Aude.

Each Sunday Esperaza wakes up to the busiest street market in the area, just one of several unexpected attractions in this lovely village.

The house is excellently located for parking, access to amenities and regional attractions.

Also within short walking distance are the Dinosaur and Hat museums.
